The recent redevelopment of SIMS’ laboratory spaces enables collaborative marine research across the eastern coast of Australia with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The new facilities spanning Buildings 22 and 23 consist of PC2 biological research facilities as well as PC1 chemical and marine biology research laboratories. These new facilities enable local, national and international collaborative research and are enhanced through shared access to a range of leading edge technology, high-cost equipment and facilities that enable our member universities and government departments to provide a focused effort on addressing marine sustainability & climate change challenges. Facilities include:
- PC2 Cell Biology Laboratory
- PC2 Molecular Biology Laboratory
- PC2 Microbiology Laboratory
- Electronics Laboratory
- Sediments and Marine Field Biology Laboratory
- Ecotox and Chemistry Laboratory
