On the 24th of February 2009 the Sydney Institute of Marine Science hosted a visit by the Deputy Premier, the Hon. Carmel Tebbutt, and the Hon. Jodi McKay, in her capacity as Minister for Science and Medical Research. During the visit Minister Tebbutt announced state government support and funding for the Sydney Institute of Marine Science.
