Exploring the Planktiverse

A VIRTUAL LEARNING WORKSHOP

Exploring the Planktiverse

What do jellyfish and green algae have in common? They’re both forms of plankton! The word plankton comes from the Greek word planktos, meaning “wanderer”, and comprises a large and diverse group of biota defined by their inability to swim actively against a current.

Explore the incredible planktiverse with scientists from SIMS! After you have finished watching, why not have a go at our activity – the Design-a-Plankton challenge! You’ll need to reference this Common Adaptations in Plankton worksheet to complete the challenge.

We would love to see what you come up with, so don’t forget to share your designs with us at education@sims.org.au!
