Sydney Harbour Water Quality Monitoring
The Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) operates a real-time water quality monitoring system located in Chowder Bay, at depths of around 7–9 metres depending on the tide.
Sensors are positioned near the intakes to the SIMS Research Aquarium, providing continuous data on water quality before it enters the aquarium.
This live data interface gives the community an opportunity to better understand the dynamic water conditions of Sydney Harbour.
The long-term dataset contributes to ongoing and future research both locally and internationally.
