Science of Gamay
PROJECT
Science of Gamay: A systematic review of current knowledge of Botany Bay
There is growing desire for ecosystem-level management of urban waterways, but management efforts are often challenged by a lack of integrated knowledge. Gamay is no exception to this, despite the bay being the subject of much scientific research over the years.
This project systematically reviewed published literature, Traditional Ecological Knowledge and consulted with scientists to produce a review of Gamay that synthesises all published knowledge of Gamay’s aquatic ecosystems to identify key knowledge gaps and future research opportunities.
This project is run by CIs Will Figueira, Paul Gribben and Katie Dafforn and is funded by the NSW Recreational Fishing Trust.
Talia Stelling-Wood is the post-doctoral researcher on the project.
